EDUCATION FOR WOMEN

Women occupy more than half of the total population of the world. Yet they don’t have equal freedom like to that of what men have in most countries. However the position has changed now. In the modern world no one thinks that a woman’s place is in the kitchen and a man’s in the farm, factory or office. In parts of the world these are the things of the past now woman look after families and make better homes in addition to occupying the highest offices in several countries.

Nor do woman of today lag behind men most other walks of life. Nor very long ago we heard that a woman, a Japanese mother and house wife, heard conquered the Everest-the highest peak in the world. Moreover, women now almost all the games enjoy nearly every spot that men do. In politics and even in the field of space travel we have see women occupying high positions. In India the thing is very interesting. We have women, chief ministers, collectors, administrators and so on. In the major part of educational field is occupied by women. In short, today’s woman has proved that given a chance she can do as well and as much as any man.

Therefore, it has been realized these days that women’s education requires greater attention that received in the past. In most large cities and towns of our countries there are no special schools for girls. There are many co educational schools where boys and study together. A large percentage goes to college to become graduate, PG and professional studies. The government most encourages the opening of new schools for girls. It must also provide special facilities to train large numbers of women teachers. Our universities must give preferences to woman for admission to courses. The government should also give scholarships to women students.

Every Indian wants have a prosperous India . To make India prosperous we must educate every woman and every man. It is a popular quotation that India is a rich country with poor people. Why is it so? It is because of the illiteracy prevailing in India. In north India, it is unimaginably the great. Religion, caste, superstition etc. will exist and destroy the national development if illiteracy continues. Thanks to ministers states governments of India for their literacy mission. However women’s education is more important because women bring up children. Children learn first from their mothers. Childhood lessons are the best lessons for ambitious children. Educated mothers make better homes.
